We welcome you to Kathmandu University School of Education, Department of Development Education.
We are very proud to run the popular and the highest demand Master, MPhil, and Ph.D. programs in
development studies. The Department of Education always endeavors to cultivate the intellectual
intensity of the students to address the local and global challenges of development and education.
Our efforts made us proud to have very active alumni who have been contributing to the development
of Nepal in the government, non-government and private sectors. The contribution of the alumni makes
the department more visible and viable in the academic sector.
The department consists MPhil and Ph.D. in development studies, Master in Sustainable Development,
Master in Technical Education and Vocational Training, and Master in Training and Development ( One
year). The most recent program is Master in Training and Development which was launched in 2021.
We aim to create global and local opportunities to have sustainable impacts on the development
thereby leading the journey of research and learning, supported by dedicated teachers, researchers, and
practitioners. The Department of Development Education strives to make the center of excellence by
providing competitive education at reasonable fees. The teaching philosophy of the department fosters
collaborative interdisciplinary approaches to address the development challenges in the 21st century.
